14 August 2004: A comet is due to pass by Earth harmlessly. However, the comet's course suddenly changes to an impact trajectory with the Earth, which causes global panic. It soon becomes apparent that what is believed to be a comet is no comet at all when it appears to come in for landing. Hovering over Highland Beach (Capilano Lake, British Columbia), the comet – a ball of light – explodes, depositing 4,400 people.
